The Role

As a Legal Cashier, you will play a vital role in supporting the Finance team, ensuring the smooth and compliant running of financial operations across the firm.

You will be responsible for day-to-day cashiering duties, working closely with fee earners and colleagues to ensure financial transactions are handled efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Cashiering & Finance
Manage daily legal cashiering duties
Reconcile the firm’s bank accounts, including monitoring unpresented items
Process client receipts, payments, and transfers
Ensure all client withdrawals comply with SRA Accounts Rules
Handle Legal Aid reconciliations
Process client-related invoices in a timely manner
Produce billing as requested by fee earners
Compliance & Risk
Ensure full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules
Maintain awareness of money laundering and cybercrime risks
Verify incoming and outgoing transactions with accuracy and diligence
Team & Client Support
Provide professional support to colleagues across the firm
Handle client enquiries both face-to-face and over the phone
Work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail
Experience dealing with client enquiries in a professional setting
Confident using IT systems and financial software
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong organisational and time management skills
Desirable
Previous experience in a Legal Cashier role
Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and legal finance processes
