A well-established small animal practice in Newcastle-under-Lyme is seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in surgery to join their welcoming and experienced team. This is an exciting opportunity for a vet looking to continue developing their clinical and surgical capabilities within a friendly, supportive environment that prioritises both patient care and professional growth. An interest in orthopaedics would be an added advantage.

You’ll become part of a dedicated team consisting of the Lead Vet, Head Veterinary Nurse, Registered Veterinary Nurse, Veterinary Care Assistant and Client Care Assistants, all committed to delivering exceptional clinical standards and building lasting relationships with clients.

The practice is purpose-built and well-equipped, featuring a spacious reception area, two vet consulting rooms, a dedicated nurse consult room, prep and theatre areas, digital x-ray, ultrasound, well-equipped wards and comprehensive in-house laboratory facilities. The clinical environment is designed to support high-quality patient care while enabling vets to continue developing their interests and skills.

This role includes one day of sole charge per week, making it ideal for a confident vet who enjoys clinical autonomy while still benefiting from strong team support and collaboration. You’ll have access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities, including mentoring, funded certificates and clear progression pathways tailored to your interests.

The Role

• Full-time position – 4 day week
• 40 hours per week
• 1 in 3 Saturday rota (09:00 – 14:00)
• One day of sole charge per week

Skills and Experience

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Strong surgical interest with a passion for clinical excellence
• Confident in clinical decision-making and sole charge responsibilities
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• Team-oriented with a positive and collaborative approach
• Keen to continue learning and developing professionally
