Children and Young People’s Psychological Service (CYPPS) Blackpool is looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join our busy community service for children, young people and their families.
We are a friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary psychological therapies team aiming to deliver high quality and innovative psychological solutions with service users through consultation, parent workshops, individual, systemic/family, and group work. We offer a range of psychological therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (and Third Wave), Eye movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Video Interactive Guidance (VIG), Systemic Therapy. The service is co-located with other Blackpool children’s services including School Nurses and CAMHS and we contribute to a single point of access for children’s mental health in Blackpool.
As a valued member of our team we are keen to support you consolidate core competencies and develop an area of clinical interest relevant to the employed role. Alongside this you there is also opportunity to be a member of our Systemic Family Therapy team. There is ample opportunity for peer support and supervision (1:1 and intervention specific) locally and across the region covered by the trust. Staff working in our service have accessed a range of development opportunities including specific therapies training.
There will also be opportunities to support the broader aims of leadership activity through indirect work, delivering teaching and training, and service development/audit activities. For staff appointed at Band 7 we will support the development of competencies via clinical supervision as part of a professional development plan. We have good links with the North West Clinical Training courses and encourage clinicians to offer core and specialist placements. All clinical psychologists have an agreed Job Plan which protects their core clinical commitments and allocated time for agreed projects.
We are happy to consider applications from candidates looking to job share or work fewer hours (minimum 22.5 hours / 0.6 FTE). The post will be largely office-based, with some opportunity to work remotely.

Accessing the area
The post is based at Whitegate Health Centre, which is easily accessible by car via the M55. There is free parking available a 5 minute walk from the building.
Blackpool is served by two train stations (Blackpool North and Blackpool South), making Whitegate Health Centre accessible by train.
There is a bus stop located outside the Health Centre which is included on the route of the 61 bus service from Preston.
