About the job
We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at HMP Stocken.
In this role, you will help maintain the prison buildings and facilities to ensure they are safe, secure, and in good working order. This is a practical, hands-on role with a variety of tasks.
Main duties
Carry out general building repairs and maintenance
Support fire safety systems (fire doors, alarms, extinguishers)
Complete emergency lighting checks
Carry out water safety checks (temperature testing, flushing)
Assist with basic electrical checks (e.g. RCD testing)
Support maintenance of security systems such as CCTV
Record and update jobs using a computer system
What we’re looking for
Experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a similar role
Practical skills across general repairs (e.g. doors, basic electrical, plumbing or fabric work)
Basic IT skills
A reliable and proactive approach
Good awareness of health and safety
Additional information
You will need to pass security clearance (we will support you through this)
The role includes a 1 in 3 weekend rota (extra 15% allowance paid)
