Summary
We are seeking an experienced Homes Manager to lead the home, ensuring that the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations. You will help lead a team that provides safe, nurturing, and structured care, promoting positive outcomes for children and young people. Benefits

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Compliance
To ensure full compliance with:
Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015
Quality Standards (Reg. 5–14)
Ofsted Inspection Framework
Support in preparing for Ofsted inspections, contributing to action plans, and ensuring continuous improvement.
Ensuring the home meets or exceeds a “Good” or “Outstanding” Ofsted rating.
Maintain effective monitoring and quality assurance systems (Reg. 45 & Reg. 44 liaison).
Safeguarding & Child Protection
Promote a safeguarding culture and ensure strict adherence to local authority and national safeguarding procedures.
Maintain detailed safeguarding records and ensure concerns are escalated appropriately.
Ensure staff demonstrate professional curiosity and protect children from harm in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018).
Care & Support of Children
Ensure the children’s voice is central to care planning and decision-making.
Assist in the creation and review of individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans.
Promote education, health, emotional development, and independence skills consistent with the Quality Standards.
Staff Management
Supervise, coach, and appraise staff to ensure practice meets Ofsted expectations.
Support staff induction, probation, and continued professional development, ensuring training is up to date.
Promote reflective practice and professional accountability.
Records & Reporting
Maintain high-quality, accurate records in line with Regulation and GDPR requirements.
Support the completion of regulatory reports including incident logs, safeguarding files, and key working records.
Multi-Agency Working
Build effective partnerships with local authorities, schools, health providers, and safeguarding teams.
Attend professionals’ meetings, planning meetings, and reviews.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a children’s home or residential childcare environment.
Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare or working toward Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare.
Strong understanding of:
Children’s Homes Regulations
Quality Standards
Safeguarding legislation
Ofsted inspection processes
Demonstrable experience supervising or managing staff.
Ability to support a culture of high performance and accountability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare.
Social Work qualification or equivalent.
Experience supporting children and young people with complex needs, trauma, and challenging behaviour.
Knowledge of therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.
