This is a high-impact role designed for a leader who can bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and the future of digital manufacturing.

About WPT

At Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT), we are fueled by a single commitment: 'We never do less for other people’s children than we would for our own.' As a thriving network of schools across South Yorkshire, we combine high expectations with embedded inclusivity. We do not work in silos; instead, we rely on deep collaboration and school-to-school support to ensure every student develops socially, emotionally, and academically to achieve the highest standards.

As the Subject Director, you won't just manage a department—you will shape the future of technical education for students from KS1 through to KS5. You will lead a team of dedicated teachers and technicians, ensuring that our curriculum—spanning Product Design, Engineering, Textiles, and Food Preparation & Nutrition—is research-informed, safe, and world-class.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Vision: Develop and implement a cohesive Trust-wide strategy for D&T that removes barriers to learning.
• Curriculum Design: Lead a progressive curriculum that builds technical confidence from Primary through to A-Level.
• Safety & Excellence: Oversee Health & Safety standards (DATA/CLEAPSS) and resource management across all Trust workshops and kitchens.
• Staff Development: Mentor and coach staff, lead Trust-wide CPD, and foster a culture of high expectations.
• Outcomes: Take full accountability for raising standards, particularly in NEA (Non-Exam Assessment) and vocational pathways.

The Ideal Candidate

• A qualified teacher with a proven track record of exceptional results in D&T or Engineering.
• A leader with a design thinking mindset, proficient in modern manufacturing (CAD/CAM, 3D printing).
• An expert in Health & Safety with the ability to manage complex technical environments.
• A collaborative professional who can inspire staff across multiple school sites.

The successful candidate must hold their Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

***Closing Date: Noon, Wednesday 3rd June 2026***
