Crynodeb
The post-holder will be expected to attend all trauma calls when on a day shift and red trauma calls when covering a night shift but will also take referrals from local hospitals via phone to coordinate transfers within the regional Trauma Network. They will also provide operative cover for all torso injuries acutely and take backs and coordinate the surgical management of this complex group of patients. The appointee will be responsible for patients with multi-system injuries and will help to develop guidelines and standard operating procedures for areas of the MT pathway that fall under their expertise. From an EGS perspective, the post-holder will ensure sub-specialty patients are appropriately transferred to colleagues, define clinical management plans and delivery acute surgery to EGS patients and their ongoing care until discharge. From an Elective GS perspective, the post-holder will have operating sessions and clinics, as well as being involved in service developments and developing a sub-specialty interest.
