Keep a major hospital flowing safely — and be part of an Estates team that genuinely matters.

If you’re a qualified plumber with building services experience, this is a stable, long‑term role on a large, complex healthcare estate. You’ll be working in a Hard FM environment where your work directly supports clinical services, patient safety and day‑to‑day hospital operations. This isn’t just “fixing leaks” — you’ll be maintaining and supporting plant, services and complex systems across a busy hospital site, with the structure, support and purpose that comes with working in healthcare.

The Role

As a Maintenance Plumber, you’ll provide technical support across the Wythenshawe Hospital estate, helping keep building services running safely, compliantly and efficiently. You’ll deliver a mix of reactive repairs and planned work, completing jobs to a high standard and supporting a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintaining the safe operation of plant and equipment across the hospital estate.
  • Carrying out repairs, new works, servicing, installation, maintenance and testing of building services systems.
  • Working to company/client procedures and statutory compliance, including H&S, safe systems of work, hygiene/cleanliness, fire safety and COSHH.
  • Promoting a safe and healthy environment across the site.

What we’re looking for

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and good building services knowledge
  • Strong maintenance experience: fault finding, diagnosing issues, reading drawings and repairing equipment
  • Organised approach with the ability to keep pace and meet deadlines
  • Clear communication, a positive attitude and a team-first mindset
  • Comfortable working both as part of a team and independently, staying calm under pressure

(Healthcare or large-site experience is useful — but not essential.)

What you’ll get (Sodexo Benefits)

Working with Sodexo is more than a job — it’s a chance to be part of something bigger, with strong support for you and your family.

  • Mental health and wellbeing support platform
  • Employee Assistance Programme (including financial/legal/personal support)
  • Free wellbeing app with 24/7 virtual GP access
  • Discounts scheme (plus cashback options)
  • Salary finance tools and retirement savings plan
  • Death-in-service benefit
  • Training, development tools and opportunities to grow
  • Cycle to Work and volunteering opportunities
  • Full training and protective uniform provided
