OUT OF SCHOOL CHILDCARE & EDUCATION PRACTITIONER
22 hours/week – Monday to Friday
Salary up to £15,474.73/annum based on 22 hours per week depending on qualification
We are looking for someone with experience working with primary school aged children who can bring energy, creativity and professionalism to our out of school care team. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to plan, deliver and evaluate high‑quality experiences that support children’s learning, wellbeing and enjoyment.
As a Practitioner, you will play an important role in the day‑to‑day running of our services. You will help shape a positive environment by recognising and responding to children’s individual needs, supporting their development and ensuring their voices are heard. You will also contribute to the leadership of the team by guiding and overseeing the work of others when required.
We are seeking someone who can create safe, stimulating and engaging spaces where children can explore, play and grow. You will be confident taking responsibility for groups of children both within the service and on outings, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Applicants must have or show a commitment to learning:-
• A recognised childcare qualification:- HNC in Childcare & Education; NNEB; SVQ Level 3 Children’s Care, Learning & Development; SVQ Social Services (Children & Young People) SCQF Level 7; or equivalent
• Knowledge of national practice guidance (Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence)
• Experience working in an early learning and/or childcare setting
• A commitment to high quality practice, inclusion and children’s rights
• The ability to work collaboratively within a busy, supportive team
All applicants must be eligible to:-
• Register at Practitioner Level with the Scottish Social Services Council.
• Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
• Work in the UK and have the relevant documents to prove this.
