Summary
Secondary School Teacher (ECT) – Full-time, long-term supply starting September 2026
These long-term supply opportunities are ideal for Early Career Teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience while benefiting from consistency and structured support. You will be working across secondary schools in Norwich and the surrounding areas, delivering high-quality teaching while developing your classroom practice in a stable, long-term role. This position is suitable for ECTs across a range of secondary subjects.
Duties as Secondary School Teacher (ECT):
- Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in line with the secondary curriculum
- Teach your specialist subject across KS3 and KS4, depending on experience
- Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain high expectations
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress where required
- Work collaboratively with department colleagues, mentors, and support staff
- Contribute positively to wider school life during the long-term placement
Ideal Secondary School Teacher (ECT):
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to qualify as an ECT by September 2026
- Early Career Teacher seeking long-term supply experience in secondary education
- Strong subject knowledge in your specialist area
- Confident, reflective, and eager to develop classroom practice
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
