Opportunity to be part of a friendly team of Personal Assistants
A 41 year old man with MS, living in Sighthill area in Edinburgh, is adding to his team of personal assistants, to help him to live independently in his own home.
The team covers support 24/7 on a rota basis, and you may be asked to provide cover for holidays and sickness. This role could be done by 1 person for 30 hours per week, or by 2 people splitting the role. You would be expected to work Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday starting between 12pm and 1pm then ending at 8pm, or when the night staff come to take over.
He has an excellent sense of humour and appreciates when others do too. He enjoys most kinds of music from AC/DC to classical.
It is important to note that the employer is a smoker.
Previous experience supporting someone with a disability is essential. It is also important that you are a caring person with good communication and listening skills and who would be most concerned with the safety and happiness of your employer.
You must be reliable, trustworthy and punctual, in order that his daily routine runs smoothly.
Post is subject to references and you are be required to join or already be a member of the PVG scheme.
