We’re looking for a General Operative to join our friendly Grounds Maintenance Team on an 8 month Fixed Term Contract, helping to keep our communities looking their best, whatever the season.

What you’ll need

Grass cutting and shrub bed management skills.
Confidence using grounds maintenance plant and equipment and following safe working practices.
A practical, can-do attitude and enjoyment of outdoor work in all types of UK weather.
A full UK driving licence.
What you’ll be doing

Grounds maintenance duties, including grass cutting and shrub bed management.
Operating and maintaining equipment safely, including ride-on and pedestrian mowers, brush cutter, hedge trimmer, powered blowers (backpack/handheld) and rotavator.
Using specialist equipment where trained/competent, such as chainsaw, brushwood chipper, stump grinder and tractor (plus attachments).
Supporting projects to convert previously maintained land to wildflowers.

Hours and holidays

37 hours per week, paid monthly.
Working pattern: Mon–Thu 8:00am–4:00pm and Fri 8:00am–3:30pm.
30-minute lunch break
25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, plus concessionary days at Christmas.
