Summary

Our client, a renowned educational institution in Telford, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and ensuring their academic and personal growth.

As a Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing tailored support and assistance to students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities. Your primary focus will be to work closely with class teachers and other professionals to implement individualised learning plans, deliver targeted interventions, and foster an inclusive and nurturing environment that empowers our students to reach their full potential.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting students with their academic work, helping them to understand and complete tasks, and providing clarification and guidance as needed.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies to support students in developing positive social and emotional skills.
- Collaborating with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the unique needs of each student.
- Offering one-to-one or small group support to students, ensuring they are able to actively participate and make progress in their learning.
- Providing personal care and support, such as assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, or mobility, as required.
- Maintaining detailed records and contributing to the assessment and monitoring of students' progress.
- Accompanying students on educational visits and outings, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to share information and updates about students' progress and needs.
- Participating in continuous professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs.

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A relevant educational or teaching assistant qualification, such as an NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the flexibility to adapt your approach to meet the diverse needs of your students.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and personal development of students with special educational needs.
- A commitment to promoting inclusive practices and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also demonstrating initiative and independent working skills.
