This is a great opportunity to lead a dynamic continuity team delivering truly personalised maternity care across the full pregnancy journey. As Midwifery Continuity Team Leader of the Caledonian Continuity Team you will shape a model of care where relationships matter, continuity is real, and women feel known, heard and supported from booking through to postnatal discharge.

You will lead a skilled, community-based team providing care across home, birth centre and hospital settings, balancing clinical expertise with strong leadership and coordination. This role suits someone who thrives on autonomy, values continuity of carer, and is passionate about improving outcomes and reducing inequalities through relationship-based care.

In return, you will be part of an innovative service at the forefront of maternity transformation, with the opportunity to influence practice, develop your team and make a lasting impact on the experiences of women and families.

You will provide day-to-day leadership of the Caledonian Continuity Team, ensuring safe, effective and compassionate care across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal pathways. This includes overseeing caseload management, coordinating staffing and on-call provision, and maintaining high standards of clinical practice within a community-based model.
You will support and develop your team through supervision, mentorship and performance management, creating a positive, accountable and supportive working culture. Working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, you will manage complexity, contribute to personalised care planning and ensure women receive consistent, informed and responsive care.

The role also involves monitoring quality and safety, responding to concerns and complaints, and using insight from feedback and incidents to drive improvement. Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to work flexibly, make sound decisions and lead confidently in a fast-paced, evolving service.
