Sheet Metal Operative - Punch Press (Amada)
- Location: Buntingford, Hertfordshire
- Job Type: Temp-to-perm
- Pay: £16.00 p/hr + Overtime at £21.00 p/hr - Good hours available
- Shift premium: Paid after 4:00pm (late shift)
Working hours:
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Early shift: 7:30am - 4:00pm
- Late shift: 1:00pm - 10:00pm (shift premium paid after 4:00pm)
- Flexibility required: rotating early/late shifts (late shift to be introduced soon)
The role:
We're recruiting for an experienced CNC Punch Press Setter / Operator, ideally with Amada experience (or similar). This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term prospects for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities:
- Set and operate Amada CNC punch press machinery
- Carry out tooling changes, first-off checks and maintain tolerances
- Read and work from engineering drawings
- Measure and inspect components using basic measuring equipment
- Complete job paperwork and maintain good housekeeping standards
- Follow site Health & Safety procedures at all times
Skills and experience required:
- Proven experience as a Punch Press Setter/Operator
- Amada experience is beneficial
- Confident reading engineering drawings
- Able to work to deadlines/targets while maintaining quality
- Reliable, quality-focused and flexible with working hours/shifts
