All consultants are based at the Yorkshire Heart Centre on the Leeds General Infirmary site. There are eleven consultants with an interest in interventional cardiology, including four sub-specialising in valve intervention. This post will increase these numbers to twelve and five respectively. There are six full time catheter labs at the Yorkshire Heart Centre (YHC). The Yorkshire Heart Centre provides a Primary PCI (PPCI) service to Leeds and West Yorkshire currently delivering PPCI 1100 procedures annually, the largest PPCI volume in the UK by far.
