Qualifications and experience

• Qualified teacher status
• Degree
• Successful primary teaching experience

Skills and knowledge

• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
• Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies appropriate for young children
• A strong understanding of how young children learn and develop
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of all pupils, including those in early development stages
• Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with young pupils
• Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and a strong commitment to keeping children safe
• Understanding of effective behaviour management strategies suited to young children
• Good ICT skills, particularly in using technology to support early learning and engagement

• A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school
• High expectations for children’s attainment and progress
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
