Summary
Bodmin Town Council is seeking to appoint a Caretaker to join its Estates & Facilities Team.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the effective day-to-day operation of Council buildings and public conveniences, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard and remain safe, secure and welcoming for staff, councillors and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
• Cleaning and caretaking of Council buildings and public conveniences
• Undertaking basic maintenance, including minor repairs, painting and decorating
• Setting up and clearing rooms for meetings and events
• Carrying out routine health, safety and fire checks
• Acting as a keyholder and responding to alarms or call-outs as required
Post Details
• Hours: 37 hours per week (including evenings and weekends as required)
• Salary: Grade 2, SCP 6–9 (£25,989 – £27,254)
• Location: Bodmin
• Requirement: Full UK driving licence (Council vehicle provided)
Previous caretaking or facilities experience is desirable. The successful candidate will be reliable, flexible, practical and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
