Are you a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a full-time role in a supportive secondary special school?

We are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Hackney, supporting students aged 11 to 17 with a range of special educational needs and/or disabilities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people access learning, build confidence, and develop independence within a nurturing specialist environment.

Position: SEND Teaching Assistant

Age range: 11–17
Contract: Full-time

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will:

• Support students with special educational needs and/or disabilities
  
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver individualised support
  
• Help students engage with learning and classroom activities
  
• Provide emotional, social, and behavioural support where needed
  
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive routines
  
• Support students both in class and during wider school activities
  

  Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND is desirable
    
  • Experience in a school, care, youth work, or specialist provision would be beneficial
    
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
    
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
    
  • Must hold a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
