Oasis Academy Mayfield currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Librarian (maternity cover), supporting whole-school literacy and fostering a love of reading across the academy. Job overview The Librarian will play a key role in developing an engaging and inclusive reading culture, managing both the physical and digital library spaces. You will inspire students to develop a love of reading, support the delivery of the academy’s reading strategy, and work closely with staff to enhance literacy across the curriculum. The role involves promoting reading initiatives, supporting targeted intervention programmes, and creating a calm, safe and stimulating environment where students can thrive. You will also lead on library-based activities and events, helping to celebrate and embed reading throughout the academy. This is a fixed-term position to cover maternity leave. Job requirements • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths • Passion for reading and promoting literacy • Strong organisational and communication skills • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and engage positively with students • Experience of working with young people or in a customer-facing environment (school or library experience desirable) Why join us?
