A Vacancy at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.


To work in HBTT under the line management of the HBTT Team Manager, and accountable to Senior Practitioners, qualified nurses, social workers and allied health professionals for client care programmes. The post holder will work with people of all ages in line with the relevant clinical pathways as outlined within the HBTT operational procedure.

The Assistant Practitioner will function at a higher competency level than that of other community support workers with responsibility for actively participating as a part of the HBTT.

The post holder will be required to play an integral role in the delivery of care as appropriate and will be competent to work across professional disciplines.

Supervision and teaching of junior staff will be part of the role.

To undertake physical health checks for service users under HBTT, including venepuncture, blood pressure, weight, hip/waist measurements, BMI, ECG

To respect the individuality, values, culture and religious diversity of clients and colleagues and contribute to the provision of a service to these needs.

Establish and maintain good working relationships with all MDT members working within HBTT and external agencies.

Be a full member of the multi-disciplinary team.

Following a period of preceptorship to function as an Assistant Practitioner without direct supervision.

Able to prioritise and organise own workload.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, report writing.

Ability to work as part of a team, work under instruction, able to develop good relationships with colleagues, patients and carers.

Assist in assessment and evaluation of individual clients.
