Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Primary School – Merseyside

We are seeking a confident, skilled and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly and inclusive primary school in Merseyside.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and committed practitioner who is passionate about supporting high‑quality teaching and learning and making a positive impact on pupils’ progress and wellbeing.

About the Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

-Deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes under the direction of the class teacher
-Provide planned cover for teachers, including leading lessons where appropriate
-Support the planning, preparation and assessment of pupils’ learning
-Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND
-Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
-Contribute to the wider life of the school

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, term time only
Working during core school hours (approximately 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Full‑time or part‑time opportunities may be available depending on the role

About You
We are looking for someone who:

-Holds HLTA status or equivalent experience
-Has strong classroom practice and behaviour management skills
-Is confident leading learning activities and supporting pupil progress
-Has high expectations for all children
-Is a positive, flexible and reliable team member
-Is committed to ongoing professional development
