This EYFS Teaching Assistant role offers a full-time, temporary to permanent opportunity from September 2026 within a supportive early years setting. The EYFS Teaching Assistant will work alongside teaching staff to support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. This role is ideal for a qualified Level 2 Early Years Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young children and is seeking long-term progression.
Duties as EYFS Teaching Assistant:
- Support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Work with individuals and small groups to support early language, literacy, and numeracy skills
- Assist with play-based and structured learning activities
- Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
- Support daily routines, transitions, and personal care where required
- Work collaboratively with teachers and early years staff
- Observe and share information about children’s progress with the teaching team
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant:
- Holds a Level 2 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
- Experience working in an EYFS or early years setting
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
- Caring, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and committed to a full-time role
- Willingness to start on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
