Job Description:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team at Woodland Lodge Care Home. This role is central to providing high-quality, person-centred care to residents, supporting their daily needs while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing. You will work as part of a supportive team, contributing to both the care of residents and the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
Purpose of the Position:
Support residents with their personal care needs in a respectful and dignified manner.
Promote independence and enhance residents’ quality of life. Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Take responsibility for delegated care tasks appropriate to your role.
Work under the direction and supervision of the Officer in Charge Carry out routine duties in line with your level of seniority Support and assist in the training of junior staff
Key responsibilities:
Assist residents with dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene
Support residents with mobility and physical disabilities, including use of aids
Provide care for residents with additional needs such as incontinence
Make and change beds; tidy rooms and carry out light cleaning duties
Assist with laundry, including inspecting and mending clothing
Promote mental and physical wellbeing through engagement and companionship
Support residents in activities such as reading, hobbies, and social interaction
Assist with outings and meaningful daily activities
Respond to emergency bells promptly
Answer doors, telephones, and greet visitors
Maintain accurate records and update care notes
Carry out any other reasonable duties as required
Essential Skills & Experience:
Caring and compassionate nature Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team
IT Literate
Reliable and flexible approach to shift work
Willingness to undertake training and development
Previous care experience is desirable but not essential
