Teaching Assistant (Further Education) – Full-time, long-term temporary from May 2026 until July 2026
This Teaching Assistant role within a Further Education setting offers the opportunity to provide consistent, full‑time support to learners over a fixed long‑term period. The Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to support learning, engagement, and independence, helping learners gain confidence and achieve their educational goals. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant seeking experience within FE provision and a defined, purposeful placement.
Duties as Teaching Assistant (Further Education):
- Support learners within FE classrooms and practical learning environments
- Assist teaching staff in delivering structured learning activities
- Provide one‑to‑one or small group support as required
- Encourage learner engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
- Support learners with communication, organisation, and task completion
- Help prepare learning materials and resources
- Monitor learner progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Support inclusive practice and individual learning needs
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Teaching Assistant (Further Education):
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or support role in education or FE
- Understanding of supporting young people or adults in a learning environment
- Calm, patient, and supportive approach to learner engagement
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt support to meet individual learner needs
- Commitment to a full‑time, long‑term temporary role from May to July 2026
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Passion for supporting learners to achieve independence and progress
