POST: Receptionist Full/Part-Time Salary Dependent on experience Provide efficient administrative support services to all members of the practice team. Receive,assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Job Responsibilities General Be familiar with the Practice computer system and be able to input data as required. Have working knowledge of the Practice telephone system and handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls in a polite and efficient manner. Ensure all messages are passed to the appropriate team member, and colleagues made aware of any action required. Administration Have a thorough knowledge of all Practice policies and procedures. Ensure that all administrative work is carried out in a timely and competent manner. Photocopying,shredding, laminating and other administrative duties as required. Pulling/filing medical records. Carry out data input, ensuring that the recording of all relevant information into the patients electronic medical record is accurate and concise. Create patient correspondence as appropriate from pre-defined templates. Medical Notes/Records Summarising Reception Provide an effective and efficient reception service, being able to cover all reception positions as necessary. Keep reception and patient areas tidy at all times. Process repeat prescriptions requests in accordance with practice guidelines. Handover to incoming staff patient information on any issues not yet completed. Registrations of new patients (have knowledge of practice area). Process patients change of address computer and medical records (have knowledge of practice area). Process appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone/triage and in person.
