Are you passionate about helping young people thrive, but looking for a role with reduced contact time compared to mainstream schools and a more balanced workload?

The NWSLC 14–16 Learning Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and committed GCSE Science Teacher (0.6FTE with potential to increase) to join our specialist provision supporting Key Stage 4 learners (Years 10–11).

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with young people who are home-educated and may have gaps in prior learning, students who choose to study with us and deeply value the supportive environment we provide. In this role, you’ll have the time, space, and team structure to make a significant difference without the intensity of a full school timetable.

Why Teach with NWSLC?

About the Role
You will plan, deliver and reflect on engaging Science lessons for KS4 students—many of whom may have experienced disrupted education. Working as part of a dedicated 14–16 team, you will help learners build confidence, overcome barriers, and progress towards their essential qualifications for the next step in their education.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment in Science
Contribute to curriculum planning and sequencing
Inspire a love of learning and subject curiosity
Assess progress in line with NWSLC policies, including mocks and in-class assessments
Support trips and visits as required
Deliver sessions from the 14–16 Personal Development Programme when necessary
Embed careers education, personal development, and British values into lessons
Carry out organisational and administrative duties linked to your classes

Location: Nuneaton and Wigston
