Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Cantell School is proud to be a heavily oversubscribed, inclusive comprehensive school with a student intake that reflects a wonderfully diverse and vibrant local community. Our fundamental mission is to provide an exceptional learning experience for every student so that they may lead a happy and successful life now and in the future.

In March 2024, we were judged outstanding in all areas by Ofsted. Whilst we are honoured to receive such an accolade, we must be clear that this does not define us. What makes us stand out in the crowd is the strength of relationships between our diverse student and staff body. It is one of the reasons why Cantell is a great place for students to learn and staff to work!

“Pupils are rightly proud to attend Cantell School. They feel happy, safe and well cared for. Pupils enjoy being part of the ‘Cantell Family’. They like the school’s diversity. As one pupil said, ‘It is a vibrant place to learn.’”

Ofsted, February 2023

Cantell School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable DT Technician to support our Design and Technology Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands‑on work and is keen to develop their skills in a school environment. You will support teachers and students during practical activities, prepare resources, maintain safe and organised workspaces, and help ensure the smooth running of the department.

Full training will be provided, making this role ideal for someone looking to begin or develop a career in a technical or educational setting. This role is suitable for someone with experience or at an early stage of their career who is practical, organised, and keen to develop technical skills. Due to health and safety regulations regarding machinery operation, applicants must be 18 or older.

We wish to appoint candidates with:

• Ability to promote high quality teaching and learning
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and motivational skills
• A passion for improving students’ lives and opportunities
• High levels of ambition and drive for outstanding performance from staff and students

The school is committed to safeguarding children and all applicants are subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Although applications will be processed as they arrive, an earlier closing date may be made before this if a successful candidate is found.

Further details and an application form are available on our websitewww.cantell.co.uk
