As our Autism Diagnostic Service continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Operations Lead to support operational delivery, lead our administrative teams and help drive service excellence. The Opportunity Working closely with the Operations Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our Autism Diagnostic Service. You will provide day-to-day leadership to our Patient Support Coordinators and Assistant Psychologist Patient Support Coordinators, support service performance, oversee operational processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for an organised and proactive leader who enjoys balancing people management, operational delivery and service improvement within a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Operational Management Support the day-to-day delivery of the Autism Diagnostic Service. Assist with workforce planning, appointment scheduling and service coordination. Monitor service performance against targets and contractual requirements. Support the implementation of new systems, processes and service improvements. Deputise for the Operations Lead when required. Team Leadership Provide leadership and support to operational teams. Conduct supervision meetings, one-to-ones and appraisals. Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new staff. Promote a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture. Assist with workload management and resource planning. Patient Experience & Communication Support the delivery of an excellent patient experience. Act as an escalation point for operational, patient and clinician queries. Assist with complaint management and resolution. Maintain effective communication across operational and clinical teams. Governance & Compliance Support compliance with safeguarding, GDPR and information governance requirements. Assist with audits, incident reporting and quality improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate records and identify operational risks. Support safe and effective service delivery across all pathways. Reporting & Performance Monitor KPIs and operational performance metrics. Assist with data analysis and reporting. Support workforce reporting, referral monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives. About You You will be an experienced operational leader with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be confident supporting teams, solving problems and building positive relationships with colleagues, patients and clinicians. Most importantly, you will be passionate about delivering excellent service and helping others succeed. Essential Experience & Skills Previous supervisory, team leader or management experience. Experience working within a fast-paced operational environment. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience supporting team performance and development. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret data and identify trends. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems. Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and professional standards. Desirable Experience within healthcare or another regulated environment. Experience managing operational teams. Knowledge of GDPR and information governance. Experience producing operational reports and performance data. Experience supporting service improvement initiatives. Understanding of autism diagnostic services or healthcare pathways.
