Short Description:
As Fund Operations Apprentice, you will support our Static Data team to check, review and input data held within our investment accounting software. Over time, you will learn to perform fund and new security set ups, process dividends and corporate actions and produce static data for various internal and external stakeholders. You will handle large volumes of complex data, work with best in class platforms and be trained by technical experts. By the end of your apprenticeship, you will have a good working knowledge of fund administration and be well versed in associated regulatory requirements.

About Company:
Yealand Fund Services Ltd is a privately owned Fund Administrator and ACD. As a Fund Administrator, we provide services to protect the interests of investors by independently verifying the assets and valuations of a fund. As Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) we take legal responsibility for the day-to-day management of a fund, ensuring that the fund is managed according to the regulations that apply to it.

We are based in Peterborough city centre and employ around 65 staff members from across the UK.

General
The apprentice will support the Static Data team in checking, reviewing and inputting of investment data, including but not limited to, security set up, pricing and data management, fund set ups, corporate events.

Responsibilities:
• Manage complex data from several sources
• Collaborate with others to meet strict timelines
• Act with due care and attention
• Fully comply with legal requirements, industry regulations, organisational policies and professional codes
• Work in accordance with our values and performance standards at all times
• Collaborate as part of a team to meet strict timelines
• Input and extract data from FIS Invest One
• Extract data from and confirm data within Bloomberg
• Monitor the team mailbox and ensure all queries are promptly responded to
• Support the Static Data team to:
- Price and manage data, including validation checking to agreed tolerances
- Process and check dividend and corporate actions
- Set up funds and amend existing funds

Future Prospects:
At the end of the apprenticeship, there may be the opportunity to move into a permanent role within our fund operations team.

Training Provided:
BPP apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry-experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.
Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Skills Required:
• Familiarity with Excel and a willingness to advance these skills
• Good all round IT literacy
• Strong written communication skills

• High standard of numeracy with strong analytical skills
• Detail orientated
• Ability to focus for extended time periods
• Team player

Qualifications Required: GCSE in Maths
