Summary

Job Overview
-The Duty Holder is accountable for the safe, compliant, and effective operation of assets, systems, and activities within their scope. The role ensures that all risks are identified, understood, and controlled so that operations remain fit for purpose, legally compliant, and aligned with AstraZeneca standards.

Main Duties

-Accountability for safe operation: making sure the asset, area, or activity under their control is managed safely and remains fit for purpose.

-Compliance with legal and AZ requirements: ensuring applicable laws, regulations, permits, and AstraZeneca standards are understood and implemented.

-Risk management: identifying major hazards, ensuring risk assessments are completed, and confirming that appropriate control measures are in place and effective.

-Governance and assurance: setting clear responsibilities, maintaining oversight, and checking that required inspections, audits, monitoring, and assurance activities happen.

-Resource allocation: ensuring there are enough competent people, time, budget, and tools to manage the risks properly.

-Competence and training: confirming that personnel performing critical tasks are suitably trained, competent, and authorised where required.

-Maintenance and integrity: ensuring equipment, systems, and protective barriers are inspected, maintained, and tested so they continue to perform as intended.

-Management of change: making sure changes to plant, process, organisation, or procedures are properly reviewed, approved, and implemented without creating unmanaged risk.

-Emergency preparedness: ensuring suitable emergency plans, response arrangements, and drills are in place for credible incidents.

-Incident management and learning: ensuring incidents, near misses, and non-conformances are reported, investigated, and acted on, with lessons learned embedded.

-Documentation and record keeping: making sure critical documents, procedures, certifications, and records are accurate, current, and accessible.

-Stop or escalate when unsafe: intervening, pausing work, or escalating issues where risks are not adequately controlled.
