Summary

Looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference to young people's lives every day?

We are supporting one of Hampshire's highest-performing secondary schools to recruit a Learning Support Practitioner within its specialist Resource Base for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

Available to start immediately or from September 2026 on a full-time basis (30 hours per week).

No previous school experience? That's absolutely fine.

Experience can be taught. Kindness, patience, and the ability to build trust are what matter most.

Whether you've worked in care, youth work, sports coaching, support work, or simply enjoy helping others, we'd love to hear from you.

Full training and support will be provided, including opportunities to develop your knowledge of hearing impairment and British Sign Language.

What you'll be doing:
- Supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in lessons
- Reinforcing learning and helping students stay engaged
- Acting as a note-taker when required
- Supporting hearing equipment needs (training provided)
- Assisting students during exams and assessments
- Supporting assemblies, trips, and enrichment activities
- Working alongside specialist staff to help students achieve their potential

What we offer:
- Fixed-term contract until August 2027, with potential for extension

- 30 hours per week, term-time only
- 8.25am to 2.55pm Monday to Friday - Term time (44 weeks)
- £17,197 - £17,427 actual salary
