What skills and experience we're looking for
The Role: Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting student learning and development?
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Moreton School. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people. Working closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team, you will provide both universal and targeted support that helps students thrive both academically and personally. This would a rewarding role requiring resilience, adaptability, and a need to be eager to make a real difference in the lives of young people. We play to people's strengths and have various opportunities; if you are active and enjoy sport, this could be extremely beneficial; as would being passionate about reading; or really understanding the importance of building relationships in all areas of need.
If you are committed to inclusive education and motivated by student success, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the academic and personal development of students across a range of abilities
• Assist in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, under the direction of classroom teachers
• Help promote positive behaviour, well-being, and engagement in lessons
• Build strong relationships with students to encourage confidence, resilience, and independence
• Provide one-to-one or small group interventions where needed
Qualifications and Experience:
• Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting
• A strong understanding of student well-being and the barriers to learning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative
Desirable Qualities:
• A passion for supporting young people from diverse or disadvantaged backgrounds
• Flexible, patient, and committed to helping students reach their full potential
• Willingness to engage in professional development and ongoing training
What the school offers its staff
We are a Trust that believes in a ‘talent-first’ approach, ensuring that we grow potential and see leadership opportunities as a logical step for those who make a real impact, giving fantastic career development opportunities at every turn. Our dedicated leadership team is here to support you in your professional development and ensure that you have the resources and opportunities to thrive.
Commitment to safeguarding
All necessary Safeguarding checks will be undertaken which must have satisfactory outcomes, otherwise conditional job offer may be withdrawn. KCiSE 2024 This role has been assessed as working in regulated activity and is subject to an Enhanced DBS plus Children’s Barred List Check. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020). For those applicants who are shortlisted for interview please note that you may be subject to online checks.
