Cover Supervisor - Day-to-Day Supply Location: Brixham, Devon

The Opportunity

Are you looking for flexible work that fits around your lifestyle? We are seeking confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Brixham on a day-to-day supply basis.

This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys the variety of working in different school settings without the pressure of stay-late marking or lesson planning. You will be the face of the classroom, ensuring students stay motivated and on-task while their regular teacher is away.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise: Lead classrooms for students aged 11-16, delivering pre-set work provided by the department.

  • Engage: Create a positive learning atmosphere and assist students with their questions.

  • Manage: Uphold the school's behaviour policy with confidence and fairness.

  • Adapt: Transition quickly between subjects and year groups throughout the school day.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience: You must have previous experience working in a classroom environment (e.g., as a TA, Coach, Tutor, or Cover Supervisor).

  • Confidence: The ability to manage a group of 30 students and maintain a professional presence.

  • Flexibility: As this is day-to-day supply, a willingness to accept bookings at short notice is highly valued.

  • Safeguarding: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one).
