Summary
We are seeking a Transport and Operations Manager to oversee our home-to-school transport services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of transport services for pupils, while managing drivers, vehicles, routes and day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage daily home-to-school transport operations.
• Monitor performance of allocated vehicles, drivers and routes efficiently.
• Monitor service performance, punctuality and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safeguarding requirements, health and safety standards and company policies.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections and management of fleet and owner vehicle.
• Manage transport staff, including recruitment, training and performance.
• Liaise with schools, local authorities, parents and drivers to resolve operational issues.
Requirements
• Previous experience in transport, SEND children management.
• Knowledge of transport compliance and fleet operations.
• Excellent organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience within home-to-school, SEN or passenger transport is desirable.
• Transport compliance, or safeguarding training would be advantageous.
