Crynodeb
Deliver high-quality clinical care to newborn infants in the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, including assessment, diagnosis and management of babies requiring intensive, high dependency and special care. Work across NICU, transitional care, postnatal wards and neonatal outpatient clinics as part of a full-shift rota covering days, nights, weekends and evenings. Support consultants, neonatal nurses, advanced neonatal nurse practitioners and paediatric trainees within a multidisciplinary team. Supervise and support junior resident medical colleagues, escalating concerns appropriately and working within personal competence. Attend and contribute to departmental clinical meetings, educational sessions, simulation training, journal clubs and case discussions. Teach junior doctors, nursing staff and medical students, while participating in postgraduate education and continuing professional development. Undertake administrative duties linked to patient care, including accurate documentation and compliance with infection control and data protection policies. Contribute to clinical audit, governance, quality improvement and research activities within a highly active tertiary neonatal unit.
