About the Role
We are seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join our busy and growing Residential Property team in Rochdale. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within the legal sector and gain valuable experience in residential conveyancing.
Working closely with experienced Conveyancers and Solicitors, you will provide administrative and file management support, helping to ensure property transactions progress smoothly from instruction through to completion.
This role would suit a highly organised individual with strong administrative skills and a keen interest in property law. Previous conveyancing experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Conveyancers with the day-to-day management of residential property transactions
Open new client files and carry out compliance procedures, including ID and AML checks
Prepare and issue client care documentation
Request searches and obtain relevant property information
Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, solicitors, and other third parties
Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence via telephone, email, and post
Update and maintain case management systems
Prepare documents and correspondence for fee earner review
Assist with exchange and completion of administration
Scan, file, and maintain accurate electronic and paper records
Provide general administrative support to the Residential Property team
Person Specification
Essential
Previous administration experience within an office environment
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively
Professional and client-focused approach
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Strong team player with proactive work ethics

Previous experience within a legal, conveyancing, property, or professional services environment
Knowledge of the residential conveyancing process
