Summary




Locum Specialty doctor IN PAEDIATRIC RHEUMATOLOGY AND CHRONIC PAIN for 12 months





This is a locum post for 12 months. The post-holder will join a well-established multidisciplinary team, providing a comprehensive paediatric rheumatology and chronic pain service for the Thames Valley and surrounding region. The appointee will have the opportunity to work closely with consultants and allied professionals from the Children’s Hospital Oxford, as well as a number of other DGH’s throughout the region. There are close links with the adult rheumatology service. The appointee will also be part of the regional Chronic Pain service providing a comprehensive out-patient and intensive day case service to young people and families from across the region and beyond.



We are looking for innovative and enthusiastic candidates with appropriate clinical and leadership abilities.This role is ideally suited for a senior trainee who has completed their CCT, or is within six months of CCT, or for a clinical fellow aiming to gain experience equivalent to the Consultant level.The post holder will be fully supported by a busy and friendly department and will be encouraged to take part in research and academic development. Close links to the University of Oxford provide an excellent opportunity to develop research interests in a variety of areas.



Applications are invited from candidates with appropriate training and experience for the post of Locum Specialty doctorin Paediatric Rheumatology at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, primarily working at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre for outpatient-based care. Inpatient and acute care is provided with support from paediatric services at the Oxford Children’s Hospital based at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

This is a locum post for 12 months.This role is ideally suited for a senior trainee who has completed their CCT, or is within six months of CCT, or for a clinical fellow aiming to gain experience equivalent to the Consultant level.The post-holder will join the current consultant team of Paediatric Rheumatology consultants, and a well-established clinical team working in the key areas of Paediatric Rheumatology and Chronic Pain.

Applicants should possess, or be within 6 months of receiving, a CCT in paediatrics (or equivalent) at the time of commencing the appointment and have had appropriate experience within a dedicated paediatric rheumatology unit. Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work pro-rata full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
