Summary

Prospero Teaching is working with a secondary school in the Basingstoke area to recruit a qualified and motivated Design & Technology Teacher (QTS) for an ASAP start. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive department within a well‑established school and make an immediate impact.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils to develop creativity, problem‑solving skills, and technical understanding. The school is open to candidates with different DT specialisms, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Food Technology.

This role would suit both experienced teachers and confident ECTs who are ready to step into a teaching position quickly.
- Teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons
- Support pupils in developing technical and creative skills
- Mark and assess student work, tracking progress
- Maintain a safe and well‑organised workshop/classroom environment
- Uphold high standards of behaviour and engagement
- Contribute to departmental planning and development
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology
- Experience teaching at secondary level
- Confident managing practical lessons and classroom behaviour
- Organised and committed to high standards of teaching
- Flexible and able to adapt to an immediate start role
- Suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs

- Safeguarding training can be provided
- Free accredited CPD, including safeguarding & behaviour management
