SEND Caseworker

Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Caseworker to join our team, focusing on providing specialist support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. As a SEND Caseworker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that individuals receive the appropriate educational provisions and support tailored to their unique needs. This position requires liaising with schools, local authorities, health and social care professionals, and families to facilitate assessments, develop Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and monitor the effectiveness of interventions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SEND legislation, strong communication skills, and a commitment to empowering families by providing clear guidance and advocacy throughout the often complex SEND processes. If you are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs and are driven to deliver high-quality casework, we encourage you to apply to be part of our supportive and dynamic team focused on inclusion and equal opportunity.

Responsibilities
Manage and support a caseload of children and young people with SEND alongside their families to ensure appropriate educational support is in place.
Coordinate and facilitate multi-agency meetings involving education, health, and social care professionals to assess needs and agree outcomes.
Assist in the assessment process for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Advocate for families throughout the SEND statutory processes, providing clear information and guidance.
Monitor and review SEND provision plans to ensure they meet the evolving needs of children and young people.
Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports to support decision-making and appeals if necessary.
Stay up to date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices relating to SEND to provide expert advice and support.
Requirements
Proven experience working within SEND, educational support, social care, or related fields.
Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, relevant legislation, and assessment frameworks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with families and professionals.
Ability to manage a complex caseload, prioritize tasks, and work to deadlines independently.
Empathy and a commitment to supporting vulnerable children, young people, and families.
Organizational skills and attention to detail for record keeping and report writing.
Relevant qualifications or training related to SEND, education, social work, or case management.
