Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Laser Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will operate our state-of-the-art ByStar Fiber 20kW manufactured by Bystronic, ensuring high-precision cutting and maximum production efficiency.
This role operates on a 3-shift rotating system to support continuous production.
Shift Pattern (3-Shift System)
Morning Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm
Night Shift: 10:00pm – 6:30am
Key Responsibilities
Set up, program, and operate the ByStar 20kW fibre laser cutting machine
Load and unload materials using forklift
Interpret engineering drawings and job specifications accurately
Adjust cutting parameters to optimise performance and material usage
Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
Maintain production records and meet daily output targets
Adhere strictly to health & safety procedures
Requirements
Previous experience operating fibre laser cutting machinery (Bystronic experience advantageous)
Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Knowledge of CNC controls and nesting software
Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively within a shift rotation system
Forklift licence (desirable)
