Summary

We are looking for a Female Support Assistant for 3 hours per week (term-time = 39 weeks per year) plus some ad-hoc extra hours, to support an 18 year old young lady who has Cerebral Palsy with her hobbies.

The hours are: 3 hours weekly for archery or shopping (term-time)
Ad hoc overnight sitting to provide parental respite

Working Hours: 3 hrs per week - term time, would be on Saturdays

The young lady lives in a rural location so the PA would need to be able to drive and have their own car. The nearest shops 10-15 mins away, with bigger towns about 35 - 45 mins away.

She is mobile and walks short distances and uses a manual or powered wheelchair for longer distances.

Her condition affects the use of her left hand, therefore she has some instability with
her balance, and has some lack of coordination when walking and so needs 1:1 support at times.
She likes the outdoors as she lives on a farm so her life is very much based around dogs of which she as her own assistance dog, she enjoys going on walks using her go cart, cooking/baking, archery and going to the shops.

Requirements:
The PA needs to have experience in supporting a person with physical disability, have a fun and outgoing personality, be happy to engage in assisting her with cooking/meal preparation, and enjoy the outdoors. Be comfortable around her assistance dog. Have good spoken English language.

Rate of pay is £15.65 per hour.

Exception under the Equality Act(2010)- the post is only open to female due to the personal assistance required.
