Pay Rate: £14.59 per hour
Hours: 36 hours to be discussed at interview, Temporary (Sick Leave Cover) duration: Expected to cover sick leave for 3- 6 months across 3 services.
About the role:
We are seeking a warm, positive, and dependable individual to join our team in Irvine on a full-time, temporary basis to cover a period of sick leave. If you are a naturally supportive, "people person" who loves helping others, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
A caring, reliable and respectful Personal Assistant is required to a mother, father and son across two households.
Oxygen therapy is required daily and managing epilepsy (training will be provided).
The role is to provide person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, safety and wellbeing at all times.
This position would suit someone who is compassionate, patient, dependable and comfortable working within a private home environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Assistance with showering and hair washing
Providing support with daily living tasks and maintaining independence
Assisting with all aspects of maintaining and managing the household
General household duties including tidying, laundry, ironing and light cleaning
Assisting with meal planning, preparation of meals, drinks and kitchen organisation
Supporting with shopping, household errands and maintaining household supplies
Providing companionship and emotional support
Supporting attendance at appointments and social activities
Being mindful of oxygen equipment and maintaining a safe environment
Encouraging independence while providing appropriate support when needed
Maintaining confidentiality, dignity and respect at all times
Following health and safety guidance within the home environment
Person Specification
Essential:
Caring, trustworthy and reliable nature
Good communication and listening skills
Respect for privacy and confidentiality
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Flexible and dependable approach
Understanding of maintaining dignity and promoting independence
Desirable:
Previous care or support experience
Knowledge or understanding of emphysema/COPD/Diabetes and epilepsy.
Moving and assisting awareness
This post is offered under Self Directed Support arrangements and may involve flexible working patterns, including evenings or weekends by agreement.
Must be willing to undergo a PVG check (Protecting Vulnerable Groups)
