Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Reporting to: The Employer
Location: Bushbury, Wolverhampton WV10
Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the client:
We are seeking a kind, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant to support a 5-year-old autistic girl living in Wolverhampton.
Our client is a bright and loving child who enjoys sensory play, music, and familiar routines. Our client can sometimes feel overwhelmed in busy environments and benefits from calm, consistent support from adults who understand autism and sensory needs.
The role will involve supporting our client to engage in activities at home and in the community, helping our client build confidence, independence, and social skills while ensuring our client feels safe and supported.
Main duties:
The Personal Assistant will support with:
• Engaging in play and structured activities at home
• Supporting sensory activities and calming strategies
• Accompanying to local parks, activities, or short outings
• Supporting the development of communication and social interaction
• Helping to maintain routines and transitions between activities
• Providing supervision to ensure safety and wellbeing
• Supporting the child to access enjoyable community activities
• Working collaboratively with parents to follow agreed strategies and routines
These duties may vary from day-to-day.
Type of person that you/they are looking for:
Values: We are looking for someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality & diversity.
Specific requirements: Experience supporting autistic children or children with additional needs is preferred. Training or experience in autism, SEND, or child development would be beneficial.
Hours of work: 4 hours every 2 weeks - Weekends
Rate of pay: £14.00 per hour
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
Experience supporting autistic children or children with additional needs is preferred
Patient, calm, and understanding approach
Ability to follow routines and support sensory needs
Good communication skills
Reliable and trustworthy
Enhanced DBS check required
Preferred:
Full UK driving licence
Own car and appropriate insurance
Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
