The Mayfield Partnership was formed in 2016 as a joint venture between Platform4 (formerly LCR), Manchester City Council, Transport for Greater Manchester and Landsec, with the ambition to deliver a transformational scheme. As master developer, we’ve shaped the vision, assembled the land and secured the overarching masterplan.
At the heart of the development is Mayfield Park, opened in 2022 as the city’s first new public park in over 100 years. Over the next decade, the £1.4bn scheme will create a vibrant neighbourhood around the park.
Our focus now is on enabling delivery and releasing land plots in phases, while keeping the site active. Meanwhile uses have brought the historic railway viaducts and arches to life, from Freight Island’s food and drink offer to Broadwick Live’s music events. These activations have created momentum and helped Mayfield gain recognition, including being shortlisted for the prestigious European Garden Awards.
Construction of phase one will begin in 2025/26 with two landmark office buildings, the Poulton and the Republic, alongside a multi-storey car park. The wider programme is due for completion in 2031, and in size and scale, Mayfield is one of the UK’s most significant regeneration projects.
