Summary

Senior IT Business Partner

Contract: IT

Location: London / UK wide role

Hours of work: 40

Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a Senior IT Business Partner to operate at the heart of a complex central government environment, shaping how technology delivers long‑term, mission‑critical outcomes across a large and high‑profile contract.

This is a very senior, front‑office leadership role that sits at the intersection of account leadership, IT delivery and operational teams, bringing clarity, analytical rigour and governance where complexity and competing priorities are the norm.

Job Description

Working closely with ISS Account Management, which holds overall commercial and contractual accountability, the role acts as IT’s primary interface into the wider organisation.

You will engage with senior public sector customers and large systems integrator partners, providing IT leadership, assurance and insight, while ensuring that immediate operational pressures do not undermine long‑term service integrity, compliance and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Act as IT’s senior point of coordination for the account across internal delivery teams, operational units, and Account Management

Translate customer and account objectives into a clear and prioritised IT demand roadmap

Establish and lead governance forums that support high-quality, evidence-based decision-making

Lead the analysis of options, risks, dependencies, and impacts to support senior stakeholder decision-making

Engage with senior customer and systems integrator stakeholders to provide IT assurance, insight, and strategic guidance

Line manage Business Analysts and Testers supporting the account

Ensure work entering delivery is clearly defined, appropriately prioritised, and test-ready

Identify, escalate, and support the mitigation of cross-functional risks and delivery challenges

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Public sector customer service experience is desirable, but not essential.

Strong stakeholder relationship management skills, with experience operating at senior levels.

Proven ability to lead and embed innovation within complex environments.

A confident and credible senior leader.

Strong account management and partnering capability, with the ability to influence, persuade and drive outcomes through delivery.

Experience in customer success roles would be highly transferable.
