Are you interested in working with children but don't have any formal school experience?

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Unqualified Teaching Assistants to support Primary schools across Newport from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in education, whether you're a school leaver, graduate, parent returning to work, career changer, sports coach, youth worker, or simply someone who enjoys working with children.

No previous school experience is required.

About the Role

• Support pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks
• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Help create a positive and engaging learning environment
• Support children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN/SEN) where required
• Encourage positive behaviour and participation in lessons

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• EWC Registration (we can help you with this)
• Two recent references
