Train services are running through the Severn Tunnel once again after Network Rail completed a pioneering £23 million upgrade designed to improve reliability on one of Britain's most important cross-border rail routes.

Passengers are being reminded of essential engineering work taking place on the North Wales railway between Chester and Llandudno Junction from the early hours of Saturday 6 June and reopening in the early hours of Monday 8 June.

Passengers across North Wales will benefit from a major increase in train services from Sunday 17 May, with services along the North Wales Coast line increasing by around 50%.

Passengers are advised to plan ahead as Network Rail carry out major upgrade in the Severn Tunnel and Bristol area, with replacement buses and diversionary routes in place to keep people moving from late May to early June.

Passengers are advised of temporary service changes while Network Rail carries out essential infrastructure improvements ahead of new trains entering service later this year.

Buses will replace trains between Llandrindod and Llandovery, on the Heart of Wales line, from Saturday 18 April to Thursday 23 April.
