GBR Anglia, working with Commission Projects, have engaged Turner prize nominee (2006) Mark Titchner, to install a new public artwork at the soon to open Cambridge South station to celebrate its importance for the City of Cambridge. 

From June 2026, GBR Anglia will begin changes to station entrances at Southend East in Essex. This work will support the installation of new power supplies and systems for future lifts, helping make the station step-free and improve accessibility for passengers.

As part of the investment to make Chalkwell station step-free, customers will start to see changes to walking routes to access the platforms from the ticket hall in preparation for the removal of the existing station footbridge. 

The railway in Anglia is celebrating Pride Month by encouraging people to travel by train to Pride events taking place across the region this summer.

Anglia’s railway came together for a joint operation to ensure that many thousands of Southend United fans enjoyed a seamless and hassle-free journey to and from Wembley Stadium for the club’s FA Trophy final match with Wealdstone on Sunday 17 May.

The majority of the railways across East Anglia will be open for this upcoming bank holiday but customers are encouraged to check before travelling and allow extra time on certain routes. 

The railway in Anglia has reached a major milestone, with a new unified leadership team now in place to bring together c2c, Greater Anglia and Network Rail Anglia, aligning track and train more closely to deliver a more joined-up and reliable railway for passengers in the East of England.

Level crossings on the East Suffolk line are being upgraded with new crossing technology that will make them safer for all road users, walkers and farmers ahead of the expected increase in rail freight for Sizewell C.
