Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a real difference in their lives?
We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic Alternative Provision based in Ipswich, Suffolk. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students who require additional support outside of mainstream education.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of needs, including:

· Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
· Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
· Challenging behaviour and additional learning needs

You will play a key role in helping students re-engage with education, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN
· Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
· Support behaviour management strategies in a calm and positive manner
· Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
· Encourage emotional regulation and personal development
· Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies

We are looking for someone who:

· Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)
· Has a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
· Can remain calm in challenging situations
· Is passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
· Has strong communication and teamwork skills
· Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. , CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent - desirable but not essential)
